DE Policies
1. All classes which substitute any class time with internet is considered a hybrid class, and must go through the same DE and Curriculum approval process as a fully online class.
2. Facuty need to get trained in a CMS and provide a certificate of training to the DE Committee. Etudes NG, Coursecompass and Moodle are approved platforms. The certificate needs to have an attachment which inlcluded topics covered in the training.
3. Faculty need to submit an Application to Teach Online (see http://lamission.edu/curriculum ) to Chair of Curriculum before 1st galleys
4. The Faculty course shell must be reviewed and approved by DE/Curriculum - by the 3rd galleys - and before it is scheduled in the galleys as an online or hybrid class - see Shell Review Rubric adopted on 12-04-07 - htttp://lamission.edu/curriculum/forms/DE_Rubric.pdf

6. Recertification (added on 4-16-09) - Recertification
The DE agreed that every five years (dating from the original certification of the class by DE), the class must be reviewed again and re-certified, and as part of this process, faculty must participate in an "online pedagogy" training as approved by the DE Committee.
