Agenda - http://lamc-ddl.pbwiki.com/Agenda%20of%209-15-06

Requirements to Teach online - http://lamc-ddl.pbwiki.com/application

1. Said suggested we prepare a 1 page Application to Teach Online for Facutly - for Faculty to use a one page application - form. Myriam will work on the form and get it back to the committee by 9/29 our next meeting.

2. Said will add to the current DE Form - Curriculm - see DE Form - DE Curriculum form a box which will address the concerns of section 55219 of the State Chancellor's Guideliness - see - 55219

3. Said suggested we add the Curriculum Approval at the end of the Requirements to Teach Set of Procedures - see updated DRAFT - #12 and #13 changes it to approval by Curriculum Committee - application

4. The Committee had a long discussion on Evaluation of Faculty. Mike suggested that DE meet with the Council of Instruction to inform Department Chairs of the DE forms, procedures, and training. Possibly the Dept. Chairs could be trained in how to evaluate a DE or hybrid class. A rubric needs to be developed by DE to determine what constitutes an high quality online/hyrbrid class - what types, kinds, numbers of assignments, quizzes, tests, projects and other assessments.

5. The DE and Curriculum Chairs should receive both Pink and Blue Galleys - pages on the Online/Hybrid Offerings and check to see if both the classes and the faculty have been approved. (DE will contact the VPAA and request that galleys be forwarded directly to the DE and Curriculum Chairs).

6. The DE and Curriculum will send a list of approved faculty and courses to the VPAA and Dean of Academic Affairs, and Dept Chairs at the beginning of each semester or scheduling of class cycle.

7. An End of Class Course Survey and Assessment needs to be developed (Paul McKenna and David Jordan will work on this) and implemented through IT and Tech Committee so each online/hybrid student has the opportunity to assess and evaluate their online/hybrid instructor. These evaluations will form one of the factors in evaluating online/hybrid instructors.

8. A strict timeline of deadlines needs to be developed (similar to those in Curriculum) - for the approval of the online faculty and curriculum, and published and implemented through Council of Instruction and the Department Chairs to ensure that classes and faculty are developed pursuant to the DE Guidelines on teaching online - http://lamc-ddl.pbwiki.com/application

End of meeting at 9 am
