DE Reporting

reporting structure of DDL

from Trade Tech

TT responding: DDL reports progress to both

The DDL is both an AFT and an Academic Senate committee and, as a result, I do monthly reports to the AS and we get our policies approved by AFT. I work very closely with both to ensure that the decisions we make with not have major opposition from either one. There is an agreement on our campus between AS and AFT to co-support the DDL committee. The contract stipulates the formation of the committee and gives it major responsibilities. The decisions made by the DDL impact the Academic Senate area and thus we see it as a combined committee.

Good luck!

from ELAC

At ELAC the DE Committee is an ad hoc subcommittee of the Education Plan Committee, which is a shared-governance committee. DE reports to Ed Plan, which reports to both the Academic Senate and the Shared Governance Council.

We set it up this way because it looked to us like that’s what the intention of Article 40 was.

Hi Mark,

Our Distance Education Committee is a standing committee of our Educational Policies and Standards Committee which reports to the Academic Senate. The Distance Education Committee includes both AFT and Academic Senate representatives and is considered a college committee. Both the AFT and the Academic Senate are kept informed regarding our work and we make recommendations to both or either depending on the issue.

Take care,
