- emailed Eric Ichon about ecounseling at WLAC, also Pauletta Daw at ELAC. Eric responded that it is done
 by live chat (oovoo) and Degreeworks for SEP, they use email, but they do not answer their phone and you get someone who does not even know they offer live chat who then proceeds to put you through voicemail. COC uses an automated system where students can check availability for next 10 days to set up meeting with a counselor.

10/8/14 meet with counseling and discuss ecounseling and 3SP page, talk to Joe Ramirez after ASC meeting about ecounseling, he says to wait and that there is software in district that he is going to get for ecounseling, and that Student Services is meeting to put together a 3SP page and an new online counseling page. Dr. Perez in ASC mentioned that we need to do outcomes assessments on faculty training and show how each training is linking into the SLO of learning styles. I will talk with Sheila in LRC on 10/9 about this and how to measure it. 

Meet with Nacho Monge, ITV media specialist and work on planning workshop for 10/30. he will put together a camtasia video on educannon.com and how to make a youtube video into a quiz, and we will post this to the eaglesnest page.
 

10/7/14  meeting with Michong Park - discussed 3SP - Michong said that she has met 3 times with VPSS, Carlos Gonzalez, Admissions, etc. to go over and set up sequence of steps for 3SP and to adopt common language. She said that what she needs from DE is to work with IT to develop a secure method of communicating online with students for counseling. They received 8 new window 8 tablets so the technology should be adopted for PC (not MAC) but similar to facetime.  We also talked about E counseling, and Michong agreed in a two tier system, one with basic information, links and videos, and a 2nd tier with face to face or online counseling. She will forward a final draft of the 3SP language to me, and will invite me to participate in the next 3 SP meeting which is convened.

9/30/14  Discuss with Danny Villanueva, getting Etudes bill paid, and email Vivie that contract sent out to her on 10-9, and as soon as she signs it, etudes CMS will be paid for this fiscal year - 2014-2015


 9/30/14 - meet with Diana Bonilla - review new 3 SP website at http://lamission.edu/de/3SP - she will go over it with her Chair Michong Park - we should add PPT similar to her CTE Transitions PPT, along with 3 or 4 videos on the main page, one explaining 3SP, and then one each for orientation, counseling, ed plans, etc. - I will attend Counseling In Service on 10/8 - Weds. at 1:30 pm in Culinary Arts Conference room and go over the 3 SP page. Discussed E counseling and  showed Diana the 3 tier level of services that Mike Fenton provides through Stem program - look at http://lamission.edu/stetm - and she will discuss it also with Michong, and possibly I can discuss it at the In Service meeting next week - Once the list of improvements are made by Nick in IT on the page, then it can be vetted to 3SP Committee for review and approval and then rolled out live to the campus


9/30/14 - Discussed Eaglenest faculty training of on campus and online faculty. Our Best Practices link (click here) was added to Sheila's Eagles Nest Page and it will be mentioned at Academic Senate this Thursday, 10/1, My information will be put up for faculty to contact me on etudes training, and we will do it in the Eagles Nest and keep track in a log of dates and times faculty are trained. Also Etudes Summit is November 5,6, and 7, and after myself and Sue Shaw attend, we will do a training in Eagles Nest on Thursday 11/20 at noon, announce this date to Academic Senate
